Teaching, events & community

What I do outside the builds: running the college IoT Club, teaching first-years, hackathons, and the tech events I go to around Mangaluru.

YEN NOVA 1.0 Build-a-thon

Dept. of ECE, Yenepoya Institute of Technology

Team CircuitX · 4th place

A 24-hour build-a-thon on smart agriculture. AITM sent three teams of four. Mine built Seed2Store, one Arduino unit that looks after a crop from the seed tray to the grain store, and finished 4th, a close call.

I wrote the firmware and the offline dashboard, built and wired the unit, and wrote the tests and documentation.
After every watering pulse the unit checks that the tank level fell and the soil got wetter, and locks the pump if either didn't.
No prize for 4th: we came away with certificates of participation.

AITM IoT Club launch & Arduino 101

ECE Department, Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management

President · main coordinator

The ECE department launched the IoT Club and I was named its first president. Its first activity was Arduino 101, a hands-on workshop I coordinated for first-year students.

Two batches of about 30 first-year students, working in pairs on sensors and circuits.
Rated 4.48/5 overall across 56 feedback responses, and 4.75/5 for the help students got when a circuit didn't work.
The launch was covered in local press.

Teaching the IR sensor module to first-year students.

Opening Arduino 101, with the kits ready on the table.

One of the build exercises: an HC-SR04 distance alarm.

Releasing Texplore, the department magazine, at the launch.
